The 5th issue of a. the athens contemporary art review, which covers the summer months, is now online. The issue includes a special section on the big exhibitions held in the periphery of Greece during the summer. Irene Gerogianni pays a visit to the exhibition An Outing-from the Leonidas Beltsios Collection, in Trikala. Despina Zefkili talks to Elpida Karampa, Sotiris Bahtsetzis and Anne-Laure Oberson, curators of the exhibition Pro-Taseis-Action Field Kodra 06, in Kalamaria. Poka-Yio talks to Nadja Argyropoulou about the exhibition What Remains Is Future, in Patras. Eleni Koukou visits the exhibition The Scarecrow, in Metsovo. Yiannis Arvanitis writes about the collaborative program Post Programmed City Territory (PPC_T), in the area of Farkadona, Trikala. The curators of Destroy Athens, the 1st Athens Biennial Contemporary Art Exhibition, will participate in the Art Lobby program at this year's Art Basel. In their presentation, Xenia Kalpaktsoglou, Poka-Yio, and Augustine Zenakos will focus on the context within which the Athens Biennial was initiated, the unorthodox methods which were necessary for its founding, its intended tactics towards both the local and the international systems of distribution, as well as its aspirations for its upcoming projects, events and activities.
